The first month..

So in the last month I have come across the "things" that have become my lifesaver with a newborn. Now I know for everyone those things might be different but I thought I'd share what has worked for me.

 Aden + Anais swaddles
I have been using these since Logan was born. We not only use them for swaddling him but also as a blankie, car seat cover, burp cloth...pretty much everything. I just love them. They are soft and can be either really thin or folded and be a little heavier of a blanket. I don't think I could have too many of these because I go through them so fast it's a good thing that Im doing laundry every other day.

The Nap Nanny

So I didn't start using this until Logan was about 3 weeks old and I wish I would have used it sooner..but even if I had it I would have had to wait since Logan didn't meet the weight requirements at birth. Anyway, I love this thing. For me it has become a must. Logan falls asleep in this right away and almost always gets a few hours of sleep in it. The only down side with it is that once Logan is in it I make sure that it's the room I want to be in the entire time he's napping. It can't be moved once he's already sleeping in it.

Fisher price bouncer

I don't always leave the toys on it but it gives me a few moments to have my hands free. Logan will just sit in it while it vibrates and smiles. Its a win-win for both of us. He's a happy baby and Im a happy mama :)

Angel Baby bottom balm
Love love love love this! I also have boudreaux's butt paste which I also like but I love the angel baby bottom balm much more. Angel baby has worked much better for us when Logan started to get a diaper rash. I also use the angel baby body wash/shampoo but only use it on his body because its not tear free and I don't want to accidentally use it as shampoo and get it in his eyes.

Moby wrap!

I LOVE THIS THING! It has been my #1 lifesaver. Not only do I end up having my hands free, Logan always fall asleep in it. When he's a little fussy and he will fall asleep in the moby. I was nervous about using it at first because I had a hard time figuring it out. Thank god for youtube videos! I spent a good 30 min. watching videos and playing with my wrap and finally I got it to work. I wish I would have taken the time before he was born to figure out how to use it because putting 30min. aside when you have newborn is precious sleeping time but it was worth it!

A few other things I would recommend but wont put pictures up of are:

A play mat- I put Logan on one from the beginning and he just enjoys looking up at the toys. It's also a good way to get in some tummy time.

Gerber berp cloths- I probably have about two dozen of these and they are great.

Plain white onesies & feetie pj's- I know that having cute outfits are always fun but these are practical and with changing a newborn so often plain white onesies are awesome..and feetie pj's are good for sleeping. Thank goodness for Adam's cousin Erika who sent me down a box of newborn clothes that had a bunch of the pj's in them!

Miracle blanket swaddle wrap- Really great if your looking to swaddle your baby.

And last but not least if your breast feeding I would recommend, a boppy or some kind of pillow to put the baby on, cloth breast pads, nipple butter, two great nursing bras and a few nursing tank tops. I have yet to actually use my breast pump and as of right now have no desire to use it.

Hope this helps any first time mama's... these are just some of my favorite things.
